UFC Fights & BBQ

This past Saturday was pretty awesome! While Jonathan spent the day with his dad working on our new gym location... (ohhh yeah, we signed a lease to move our gym to a new place to open in a few weeks. It's just right across the street but in a 2,000sqaure foot place that's super nice, I'm really excited!) Anyways, while Jonathan & his dad worked on putting a shower in the gym, Kelsey & I spent the day shopping! Gotta love some girls time!
We then all went to Natalie & Jarryd's house for a barbeque & to watch the UFC fights. It was a really fun evening with super nice weather, lots of good food, & best of all good company!

 Kels, Nat & Me

Zach&Kelsey brought their dog Hank, I wanted a picture with him to prove I wasn't scared & that I didn't hate him... this is the best we got!

Love my man! **Side note- I'm leaving TOMORROW to fly home for a few days! & I couldn't be more excited! I'll miss my hubbs but at least I have Kelsey to travel with!

Easter Sunday

Jonathan's parents & Christina went down to Utah Fri-Mon to be with Natalie, we wished we could've gone but couldn't because of work. So that left us to ourselves for Easter Sunday. But then, our sweet friends invited us to join them & their family and it was awesome! Kelsey went all out on a great & delicious meal & it turned out perfectly! Then we got to just hang out, go on a walk, & play some games! I'm very grateful for good friends willing to take us in so we weren't alone for Easter! They're the best!!

My new ride

This past week I made the tough decision of selling my beloved Sunshine & getting a different vehicle. I will always love my beautiful Xterra, however, multiple factors led me to deciding to sell her. The main factor, something I love even more than my Xterra, is a good deal! I got Sunshine for a great deal & I knew I could make some money off her, so that was a huge push to do it. In the process I found a very cute car that I really liked & learned I could get a great deal on it also! So that was even more enticing... Plus that fact that I really wanted to have some more $$ to go to a nicer vehicle for my hubby & another factor, that Sunshine was due for a good $500 fix. So, I sold Sunshine for $5,300 (making $800 for driving it for 8 months! Yay!) Then I got this beauty:
2004 Ford Escape, 97k miles (2 years newer & 34k miles less than my Xterra) for $3,800 (we talked the lady selling it down from $5,500!!) so that makes a good $1,500 from selling Sunshine to getting this, to add to our savings fund for a new car for Jonathan when the right one comes along! Plus this Escape (which I have named Dorey, after Dorey in Finding Nemo for the way she pronounces escape in the movie... I know its a long stretch, ok!?) is super quick & fun to drive and *bonus* gets better gas mileage!

I've also learned about myself and Jonathan too, that we just like to switch things up, and if we can make a few bucks in the process, it's just that much more fun!

Natalie vs. Robber w/gun

So I just have to share the crazy event that happened to my little sis-in-law on Wednesday night:

She is currently living in Provo, UT & has a job at a tanning salon. Well on Wednesday night at work sitting at the front desk, a man dressed in black wearing a ski mask came in demanding money & pointing a gun at her face. She thought it was some prank a guy was pulling on her (ya know crazy college kids doing dumb stuff like that) so she didn't believe him and was kind of uncomfortably laughing it off, she even slapped his hand holding the gun to get it out of her face! What a brave girl! But then it got serious when he shot the gun just feet from where she was standing and was saying stuff like "B**** give me the money!" (HOW SCARY WOULD THAT BE!?!) She gave him the money from her drawer (all 60 dollars of it.... seriously, who robs a tanning salon!?!) and he leaves.

I am so grateful my sweet sis is alright, though of course she's a little traumatized! But it's a miracle that only a wall was shot & that she wasn't injured. Seriously though, this is something that happens in TV soap operas and movies, not real life! And especially not in Provo!

I just wish we could be with Nat & give her a big hug! We love you!!

I looked out the window & what did I see...

This morning before work I looked out my kitchen window & saw our beautiful tree in our backyard just screaming at me to take a picture! Last year I remember thinking, I need to take a picture of this tree, and by the time I actually went to do it, all the pretty blossoms were gone & it was just red leaves. So when I saw this sight this morning I didn't want to pass it up! What a great way to start my day! It's crazy how much a little sunshine (after weeks of rain!) and a beautiful outdoors can make the difference in my mood!

Side note: don't you think my camera did a great job on this picture!? I didn't even edit it at all!

Conference Weekend

This past weekend, conference weekend, was great! I always have a bad memory of which apostle spoke on what exactly, but I do know how I feel during those talks, and I know I have felt the spirit. One that particularly stands out to me is the talk about the kids who were in an apartment building that collapsed because of the earthquake in Haiti... that one had my bawling like a baby! I can't even imagine the parents emotions when they heard the answer to their prayers of their little baby crying and their 5 year old son singing 'I am a child of God'. I just love the feelings of conference! I can only thank Heavenly Father for how blessed I am to be a member of this church.

Here is our tradition for Conference weekend that started with Jonathan's parents & we've carried it on ourselves this year:
Only the most delicious crapes! Just adds to the greatness of the weekend :)
