Lake Owyhee Family boating day

Two of Jonathan's uncles and their families always go up and camp at Lake Owyhee in Oregon (about an hour and half away) so we decided to make a day trip with our boat to meet them out there and take some of them out on tube runs and surfing behind our boat. It was my first time up there and the water was unreal how calm it was. We had a great time and will definitely be going again!

Lake Party

Well for starters, Summer decided she hadn't had enough of Idaho, so she came back for the end of Summer and to finish her senior year of high school living with us! Officially a family of FOUR for the next year! Wish us luck ;)

Also, to celebrate Caden's birthday we had a little party at the lake of course!

Fun times with fun people!

FIVE year Anniversary!!

Cannot believe we're already celebrating FIVE years since our wedding! Crazy!
To celebrate we booked a night at a hotel in Sun Valley, and made the beautiful drive there together with some picturesque pit stops along the way!

When we got to our hotel it was much crappier than they made it look online plus the King room we reserved was not available and they wanted to put us in a room with two doubles... for our anniversary. Uh, NO, we weren't having that. So luckily Hotels.com who we booked through got us a local condo through the amazing Sun Valley Lodge as well as a $100 credit for another time. It was a much SWEETer deal so we were happy about it!

We had a very delicious dinner, even with the long wait it was worth it. Then we went to a local grocery store for some yummy desserts to pick out and eat back at our condo :)
In the morning, we utilized the amenities that the Sun Valley Lodge offers and enjoyed a workout in their nice gym as well as an amazing breakfast.

After cleaning up and checking out, our friend Caden and his gf at the time met up with us in Stanley with a raft to do some white water rafting on the Snake River. Caden was a river guide back in the day so even though the weather was SKETCHY and cold we trusted him to show us a good time down the river. It was absolutely freezing with cold rain and bitter cold water and waves. But we had a blast, I just love going rafting so I would have been happy in any condition.

Oh and we had to document Caden's huge f350 having to get towed out of a mud hole by a tiny little chevy truck, it was kind of hilarious!

After rafting and changing into some warmer clothes we wanted to check out Redfish Lake since I'd never seen it. Still far from enjoying Lake weather, but it was SO beautiful there with the clearest blue water and the gorgeous Sawtooth mountains in the background. I can't wait to go back one day when it's hot and enjoy a boating day there!

Overall we really had a great time celebrating 5 years together and are planning on a big trip sometime in the winter for even more celebrating! (We decided a big trip every 5 years is a good goal, but we hate to leave Boise Summertimes since they're our favorite and we'd rather escape the cold for a warm tropical vacation sometime in the winter :) Anways, happy 5 years to us, and infinity more to come! We love our life together!

Oregon Coast Birthday Trip

We had quite the adventure planned to celebrate my 25th birthday, revolving around one of Jonathan's cousin's wedding in Seattle and making a trip out of it for my birthday. Well, things didn't quite go as planned as we ended up breaking down on the way to Seattle and having a 5hour delay in Pendelton, OR and making us miss the wedding in Seattle. Considering the following day we were going to make the drive down the coast to Lincoln City, OR we decided to just make our way there once we got our rental car. I should mention we waited in 100 degree heat for HOURS waiting for a rental car in a crappy mechanic shop, and then weren't able to find any hotels with availability in Portland except for a seriously dumpy motel. haha it was the worst! BUT then the next day we made it to the beach and our cute beach house and the family met up with us and we really were able to have a great time!

 The coast is SO gorgeous!

Hal loved playing in sand (and freezing water lol)

They had a big kite festival going on on the beach that weekend which was kinda neat to see!

 S'moreing it up!

And then making our way back home:
