The First Month

I honestly felt like I had a good handle on things the whole first month or so after having Lyla, she was a snuggle bug and a good sleeper, Hallie was wild and wanted to be entertained but was the sweetest big sister. I didn't feel like the blues got to me this time around, and I started working out only 3 weeks postpartum cause I felt awesome and recovered fast! We didn't have any nursing problems, other than I felt like she just wanted to nurse all the time. She was a major grunter in her sleep, like soooo noisy and preferred being on her tummy but I was too scared to let her do that through the night so we stuck her basinet in the closet rather than right next to my bed ;) Jonathan was able to be with us in the mornings which helped me get up and going better for the day, everyone bathed and eating a good breakfast. He also took charge of getting Hal to church, her first day as a sunbeam! So cute!!

Lyla spent a lot of time watching me on the treadmill, I tried to at a minimum make sure I walked a mile a day to ease into things. The sound of the treadmill usually put this babe to sleep!

The snow this winter was INSANE!! I forgot to write about the crazy snowpocolypse that went down this year, we actually were seriously lucky I got to be induced on the 31st because with being so far away from the hospital, having strep B and needing to be on antibiotics for so long before the birth and add in the crazy storm I could have risked being caught in the snow somewhere along the way and not making it to the hospital in time. For real, between December and January Boise totaled 35.5 inches of snowfall, which beat any previous records! Plus it was just miserably cold which meant the snow stuck around for forever! People were snowed in for days, kids didn't go back to school after winter break for another two weeks! I honestly didn't mind cause I figured I definitely wasn't missing out on anything haha not like I'd be taking a newborn around anywhere anyways!

The first time I tried doing lunges at 4 weeks postpartum (just no weight, like a total of 30 lunges) I could hardly walk the next day! haha so crazy what a few weeks off and having a baby will do to your body!

Ahhh just look how freakin cute this little brunette baby is!!

And miss Hallie, always managing to get into trouble lol! She's makeup obsessed already!

Lyla's not a crazy fan of bathtime!

This was the first outing I made on my own, to Ulta, and it was terrifying haha! Everything actually ran really smoothly and I was feeling pretty proud of myself, until I got to the car to put the girls back in and realized I didn't know how to get the carseat off the stroller! It was snowing again and freezing and meanwhile I spent 15 mins panicking in the parking lot looking at any possible option to get the dang car seat off! Felt like a total idiot haha but we eventually survived!

Jonathan was realizing how much more he needed to be at the Boise gym to get it to take off better, and between having three gyms now things were getting a little crazy, so he started go in real early mornings which I was so devastated about, I didn't know how I would possibly get everyone fed haha! But it was good for me to rip the bandaid off and figure it out! It was nice having him home though when he could be, and doing things like getting Hal ready for church on Sundays!

At Sunday dinners, everyone wants Lyla snugs!!
