Lake Cascade Trip

After Connor's wedding, the rest of us kids plus Dad and Rachel drove back to our house for a night and then up to a cabin in Donnelly that we rented for a few days to go boating and play together! 

We had a great first afternoon for a little while, out on the boat together and staying in a beautiful big cabin just a quick walk through the backyard to the dock. But then when Ryan, Jordan, and Brooke were out on the tub they hit a bump weird and Ryan's face hit the back of Jordan's head. We just hear Jordan helping Ryan who's moaning in pain and Jordan saying, I think Ryan needs to get to the hospital, he split the skin above his eye open and was bleeding pretty good. We originally thought it was a minor stitches issue until he was in so much pain we started questioning if there were some facial fractures. It was awful. Brittany went with my dad and Ryan to the hospital in McCall and we waited for results. Turns out he broke the tiny bones around his eye in three different parts, and of course needed the stitches as well. When he went home he ended up having surgery a few weeks later. I just felt so so so bad. It was such a bummer trip for them, he was on pain killers and just feeling awful the rest of the time, and then of course pregnant brittany gets hit with a stomach bug the next day and the poor things were just miserable. 

We tried to make the best of the rest of the time we had together since after that we couldn't really do much for Ryan and it was more helpful for us to take the loud children out to do stuff while he rested. 

We played in McCall by the shore lodge, paddleboarding and jumping on the trampoline, we got ice cream alley and out to eat a couple of places. And we tried to enjoy a couple more surfing runs on the boat. The cousins of course had a blast together which makes it all worth it, but we were sad how the trip turned out for our Cushman Family! 

This also was a very exciting time for miss Summer! While at the cabin she got her Mission Call in the mail! We had it delivered to us at the cabin and she got to skype everyone not with us while she opened it! (She was a nervous mess lol) but once she opened it, there was such a relief in her! She was called to the Salt Lake City East Mission and would leave just 6 weeks later!! So excited for her!
