After I had Lyla I NEEDED to have a warm sunny vacation on my radar so we planned a trip to Huntington Beach/Balboa/Laguna Beach! We told Brooke and Jordan about it and they were all for driving down from San Francisco to meet us! And Connor and Aubrey happened to have a friends wedding in San Diego so they hung out with us a bit too! It was crazy and full of whiny/crying/tired chaos but it was so much fun and just what my soul needed! All of the laughs and smiles always make it worth it!
Our first day the wind was so crazy and it was only like 70 degrees so Lyla didn't even make it out of the carrier on her first beach trip, but crazy Hal of course went straight for that frigid water! haha She's so wild!
Once everyone met up with us we all enjoyed the pool and hot tub in the Air bob we rented, playing tennis, watching movies at night and just being together! We enjoyed a day exploring Balboa Island and the little shops and beach there... We had an amazingly hot afternoon at Laguna Beach where the kiddos played hard and I enjoyed beach strolls with Lyla in the Ergo! We had a great dinner at BJ's pizza after exploring more of Huntington.. and just overall had a great, exhausting, sunny, trip! Jonathan is the best hubby to put up with my vitamin D vacation needs!
Also, Brooke was the best and put up with my request of family pictures at the beach! Although it was hot, sunny, and "too sandy" according to Hallie (plus a wave came and soaked us before we even snapped the first picture haha) I'm just grateful for some family pictures that include our Lyla bug!
