St. Patty's

Last year for St. Patrick's Day, Jonathan & I were very festive! We went out and bought green shirts, we made green pancakes and Jonathan even bought me green flowers!!

This year, however, we were not quite so festive... Again, we both had to work, which meant we couldn't wear anything green due to our work clothes. But I still manage to pull a little bit of a GREEN spirit! I painted my nails green so I wouldn't get pinched, but when Jonathan came to work with no speck of green I learned that apparently Jonathan HATES the St. Patty's day pinching process! Who knew!?! He thinks it's stupid and really despizes getting pinched. (if he doesn't like it so much why didn't he have a little green on him, right!?!)
Well after work I needed a pre-workout snack and made some scrambled eggs, of course I added green food coloring to it!

Then I made sure Jonathan had a little bite so he would at least have some green in him, that way I wouldn't have to pinch him any more!

Happy Green Day!

Date Nights

So with our work schedules Jonathan and I get a good opportunity for fun date nights! I get off work at 4 on Thursdays so that starts our weekend together (I love having a 3 day weekend every week! Although Jonathan has to work 8-6 on Saturdays). Here are some of our recent date pictures!

Cheer's to our fun dates!!

Chili's! They have the BEST Cajun Chicken Pasta!!

Bowling Night!!

I'll have you know, that our first game, I BEAT Jonathan!!! Second game, I got creamed...

And Jonathan got a TURKEY!! Woohoo!

At Carino's we had some delish italian, J had spegghetti & I had a pizza! (...well half of a pizza!)

Along with our Dinner & Bowling dates, we have many stay in nights with TV marathons on Netflix Instant View! My recent favorite show is

You should check it out!

Valentine's Day

Well this year's Valentine's day I'll admt was not quite as spectacular as last years flying to Georgia surprise... both Jonathan and I had to work all day (at least we got to work together!) but we were able to have a few fun surprises. Before I left for work (I get there 2 hours before Jonathan and he stays later than I do) I made him blueberry heart shaped muffins for breakfast and left a few of his favorite things as gifts so when he work up they were there! Then he surprised me with beautiful pink roses and some chocolate of course.

On Sunday before Valentine's day, we were able to celebrate with Jonathan's family, and I thought the dinner table looked just so cute I had to take a picture!

I can't wait for a million more Valentine's Days with my husband!

A Screamin Deal!

So, ever since we got our house, my mom has sent me tons of pictures for fun ideas to make the place cute! Well she sent me a bunch of kitchen pictures and I fell in love with pretty pantry doors... I then brought up the idea to Jonathan and he informed me that usually the doors I like are over $200 bucks! So I said, forget that, and we put one of our DI $2.50 door in for our pantry. This would be it before we put a door handle in.
After a few weeks we were on one of our weekly trips to Lowe's, or Home Depot (I can't remember) and we were just looking for some trim to add to our entertainment center, when I find the most beautiful door!

And please just guess how much you think we got it for???
Well here's the answer...

Yes that says FIFTEEN DOLLARS AND 51 CENTS!!! It originally was $215.51 so you can understand why I feel this is a screamin deal! Basically it was a return of a custom order so thats why it was so cheap, and luckily I have my handy-hubby who was able to trim it down and make it fit just right in our door frame! I now especially LOVE my pantry! Yay!

Guest Room Before & After

Before-

so I'll admit, these before pictures are super boring cause we didn't have anything to go in this room but I'm excited for the outcome!

After-
Jonathan's parents let us take Jonathan's bedroom furniture so then I was able to get everything else for the room with a $100 budget! (I only went a tiiiiiiny bit over!) But ya gotta love Ross & Marshall's!

We added the fan to go in the room also, I for one always sleep better with a fan!

the pillows were the inspiration for the room!

And I seriously love this sign!
Hope you enjoy & are more motivated to come visit so you can sleep here!!!

Our First Before & After Post

So, my plan is to have a bunch of before & after posts of all the house projects we've been working on. It has been so fun seeing our place coming together. We still have more projects we want to do but this is the first room that is basically done and the first major project that my handy-hubby and I did all by ourselves!(ok well it was basically all Jonathan...but I was able to add my own little touches to it!)

Before-

During-

(New furniture)-

and...After-

By the way, I think it should be known that our beautiful entertainment center was made out of doors that we found at the DI for $2.50 a piece! We bought ten of them and they've definitely come in handy!!! I'm so excited about our new living toom, I love it so much! The new furniture is just like my big green oversized chair only in couch and love seat form and chocolate brown, so basically they're the most comfortable things on this planet! We also got the new coffee table and corner table, all at Jonathan's grandparent's furniture store. So if anyone is up for a trip to Boise, we can have movie night at our place ;)

Temple Night

Jonathan's cousin was going through the temple for the first time so we went to the session with all of the extended family. Side not- his cousin is going to Macon, GA for his mission and leaves this upcoming Wednesday!
It was a great night with the family and it felt even a little more special because it was just three days before our 6 month anniversary! (not that we really celebrated!) But it was neat to think that it has already been 6 months since we came out of those same doors after being sealed for eternity!
